A. Subject Name: Math

B. Lesson Reference No: E. 2

C. Lesson Title: Graph of Exponential Functions

D. Lesson Description:
The lesson makes the student to understand how the different parameters affects the behavior of exponential functions. Also in this activity the student will use online activity that will enhance their thinking skills
The lesson covers the following learning items
Behavior of the graph of exponential functions
Domain, Range and intercepts of exponential functions

E. Learning Outcome:

At the end of the lesson the student are expected to:

  • recognize the pattern of the graph of exponential function (increasing or decreasing)
  • describe the behavior of the graph given its equation
  • solve for the range and intercepts of exponential functions given its equations
  • generalize how the different parameters affect the behavior of the graph of exponential functions
  • compare and differentiate the exponential function from previous learned functions

F. Review of Previous Learning/Lesson:

G. Learning Presentation:

Learning Object – The student will be presented a powerpoint presentation on table of values of exponential function. Students will then analyze the set of tables and be asble to describe the exponential function based on the tabel of values. Try the link
Table of Values of Exponential Functions

H: Learning Activity:

Activity 1 – Students will be group. Each group will have 4 members each. There are four activities, so each member will do one activity. The Group Leader will assign the activity to the members.
Activity 2 – Group members will discuss among them selves and come up with a generalization of what they have discovered and write it down. Their generalization is to be submitted to the teacher on the next class meeting.
